Shitalpati is the cool mat of Sylhet, split from murta cane and woven so finely it feels chilled to the touch. UNESCO listed the craft in 2017; there are fewer weavers each year. Hand-weaving in Sylhet-Moulvibazar, Bangladesh, by the Shitalpati Heritage Weavers. Because it is made by hand from a plant rather than moulded from a compound, small differences in colour, weave and dimension are normal and are not faults. Fully compostable.
